Snooker

Played snooker with my housemates in Rileys yesterday. I'm not a good player at all I must admit. Only played it a few times in my life.

Don't know that playing snooker can be quite stressful sometimes. Probably it's just me putting pressure to myself. Or I tend to concentrate too much rather than releasing myself. Not sure which way is the right way, but I should be there having fun.

Anyway, some might think that snooker in Britain is a posh game (or sport if you put it that way) for the rich. Well, it's not. It's only about 5 pounds per hour. Unlike the snooker clubs in Malaysia which is covered with smoke screen, the clubs in here are covered with beer or sometimes spilled drinks.

I don't know what's the thing about beer with snooker and beer with darts. To me, they just don't match. Drinking makes me loose concentration and sometimes woozy. How can I concentrate or aim accurately??

Another thing I don't understand about snooker, is that it seemed to be a posh game. All the professional players seem to be well-dressed with their shirts and vest. You probably get disqualified wearing flip-flops playing in the finals. Haha... I guess it's reputation that they wanna keep.

Snooker is also one of the few games that has very little adverts in it. You only get gambling and adverts from casinos around the place. You won't see Ronny O'Sullivan wearing a shirt with a big advert or a big brand name at his vest. Could be something to be exploit for marketing. Hmm... Not a bad idea sponsoring Ronny with some menswear.... C'mon... even news presenters receive sponsorship from fashion designers to get some publicity....
